Glendora Aids & Audiology offers you the option of telehealth sessions if you are not able to physically come into our office. Remote Hearing Healthcare allows you to stay connected so you never feel alone.
“Telehealth” or “telepractice” is the use of electronic information and telecommunications technologies to support and promote long-distance clinical health care, patient and professional health-related education, public health, and health administration. Technologies include videoconferencing, the internet, store and forward imaging (asynchronous telecommunications system), streaming media, and terrestrial and wireless communications.
In simpler terms, it is the equivalent of video messaging, such as a Skype call or FaceTiming on an Apple device, using a HIPAA compliant interface. You would receive an email invitation for the session and join the video call either from your computer or cell phone.
What telehealth options does Glendora Hearing Aids & Audiology offer?
Telehealth sessions can be scheduled for a variety of different appointment types including hearing aid evaluations, and remote hearing aid programming. If you are an established patient of our office, telehealth appointments can be used to guide, counsel and reteach important information related to your hearing aids.
In some cases, with specifically pre-enabled remote programmable hearing aids, your hearing aids can be programmed remotely by Dr. Ivory. Remote allows you to get your hearing aids adjusted from the comfort of your very own home.
If you are a first time patient to our practice, your case history can be established and you can begin to build some rapport and comfort with Dr. Ivory as you begin your better hearing journey. If your hearing has already been tested elsewhere, hearing aid evaluations can also be conducted through a telehealth appointment to help determine what hearing solution might be best in your particular case.
