A hearing evaluation is the starting point for understanding your hearing health. During the appointment, we conduct a physical examination of your ear canals and eardrums, followed by a series of hearing tests in a soundproof environment. These tests assess how well you hear tones at different frequencies and how clearly you can understand speech. Results are recorded on an audiogram, which gives us a clear picture of the type and degree of hearing loss, if any is present.
We recommend annual hearing exams for adults, just as you'd schedule a routine physical or eye exam. Catching changes early means more options for treatment and better long-term outcomes.
If hearing aids are recommended, we work with all of the leading manufacturers — including Oticon, Phonak, ReSound, Starkey, Signia, and Widex — to find the right fit for your lifestyle and hearing needs. Today's hearing aids are a far cry from what many people imagine. Current models offer Bluetooth streaming, rechargeable batteries, smartphone app control, and sophisticated AI-driven processing that helps you follow conversations even in noisy environments.
A few of the latest options we fit include the Oticon Zeal, a discreet in-the-ear rechargeable hearing aid with AI sound processing and Auracast connectivity; the Phonak Audéo Infinio, which features advanced speech-in-noise technology powered by a dedicated AI processing chip; the ReSound Vivia, with AI-driven sound processing and up to 30 hours of battery life; the Widex Allure, designed for a natural listening experience with its new W1 chip; and the Starkey Omega AI, which includes generative AI support tools and health-tracking features built in.
Every fitting we do is personalized. We take the time to understand how you live, what listening situations challenge you most, and which features matter to you.
One thing that sets our practice apart is the ListeningBrain® Treatment Program, developed by Dr. Kevin Ivory. Rather than fitting hearing aids and sending you on your way, this approach treats hearing loss more like physical therapy for your auditory system. Your brain needs time to re-learn how to process sound, especially after years of untreated hearing loss.
We start you at a comfortable amplification level and gradually increase it over time so your brain can adjust naturally. This approach leads to significantly higher rates of consistent hearing aid use and patient satisfaction.
Getting hearing aids is a process, not a one-time event. Hearing needs change, devices need adjustments, and periodic cleanings and check-ins keep everything working as it should. We build long-term relationships with our patients and are here for the follow-up care that makes a real difference in how well your hearing aids work for you.
We also offer telehealth appointments for established patients, so remote hearing aid adjustments and consultations can happen from the comfort of your home when an in-office visit isn't convenient.
Our office is located at 130 West Route 66, Suite 210 in Glendora, just a short drive from Baldwin Park.
