ReSound Sensia is a small, rechargeable hearing aid that uses AI noise reduction and directional microphones to focus on the speaker in front of you.

At Glendora Hearing Aids & Audiology, Dr. Kevin Ivory offers ReSound Sensia, a new premium hearing aid designed to help you hear the person you actually want to listen to, rather than the loudest voice in the room.
Many AI-powered hearing aids can mistakenly emphasize the wrong voice, or even treat background music as the sound you want to hear. Sensia addresses this with a new automatic system called Intelligent All-Around, which combines AcoustIQ (technology that identifies your listening environment), a four-microphone system that favors speech from the direction you are facing, and Deep Neural Network (DNN) processing that reduces competing voices around your conversation partner.
The idea is simple and natural: people tend to look at the person they want to hear, so Sensia follows that cue while still preserving enough surrounding sound to keep you aware of your environment.
Sensia uses two types of noise reduction and automatically switches between them depending on what it hears. In busy settings with conversation, it uses AI-based DNN processing to clean up the speech signal, while in places dominated by steady noise without speech, such as a fan or vacuum cleaner, it uses ReSound's established Noise Tracker II system to avoid unwanted sound distortions.
In GN's research, Sensia more consistently favored the person in front of the listener when talkers were equally loud, though this study measured which voice was most audible rather than how many words users understood. These are manufacturer-reported findings, so Dr. Ivory treats them as encouraging early evidence to be confirmed by independent testing and your own experience.
Sensia supports Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast, an emerging standard that lets theaters, airports, and other venues broadcast audio directly to your hearing aids, and unlike many "Auracast-ready" devices, this capability works now without waiting for a future update. Streams are easy to select through the ReSound Smart 3D app, and at least one receiver-in-ear model also includes a telecoil for traditional hearing loop systems.
Despite its added processing power, Sensia keeps the very small size and battery performance of its predecessor, ReSound Vivia. The rechargeable models are rated for at least 24 hours of use, with up to roughly 30 hours depending on how you use them. Sensia is available in rechargeable microRIE, battery-powered RIE, and several custom in-ear styles, with CROS options for single-sided hearing loss and bimodal models that work alongside Cochlear Nucleus implants.
Sensia may be a strong choice if you often lose track of the person you are talking to in restaurants or gatherings, want a discreet rechargeable device, or would like Auracast access today. Keep in mind that the full automatic AI system is available on the top technology level, so Dr. Ivory will review your hearing test results, listening goals, and budget to recommend the right model and level for you.
